Welcome to the Official Web Site of the Wood County Deputy Sheriff's Association. Established in 1974, the Association consists of both current and retired deputy sheriffs from the Wood County Sheriff's Office.

Feel free to look around our site, if you want to contact or see our association officers, click on "Officers" , check out our upcoming events in the "News" section, see some of the current wanted suspects or missing persons and submit a Tip if you would like ( all tips will be treated as confidential ). You can even ask a deputy a question about law enforcement or association activities if you would like!

The Wood County Deputy Sheriff's Association would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all of the generous citizens and businesses who have contributed to our various projects such as Bikes for Tykes, Children's Picnic, and our fundraising Golf Tournament. Photos of some of our projects and donors will be listed in our Photos section. New additions to this section include photos of our Citizen of the Year, Deputy of the Year, and Certificates of Appreciation. The latest certificate has gone to Burl Smith, a local citizen and avid golfer who graciously built and donated a brand new set of Golf Clubs to give away at our yearly fundraising golf tournament.

** The awards for Citizen of the Year, Deputy of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award has been announced. Check out our News section to read or see information and press releases involving upcoming events and daily arrests and reports.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce that we are the first Sheriff's Office in West Virginia to implement a new technology to help locate lost or abducted children. As of March 2, 2006 we will be able to take a digital photo of a child's iris and working with the Nation's Missing Children Organization, they can be entered into a secure national database. A missing child can be positively identified nationwide in as little as 5 seconds using this technology! Click on the "NEWS" section for more information or go to the "LINKS" section to go to the Child Project web site.

** This month's "Ask a Deputy" features information from the WV State Firearms Laws concerning purchase, possession, and carrying of Firearms in WV. If you have an article that you would like to know more about, feel free to suggest a topic on our Ask a Deputy page.

**Please feel free to contact us to submit a link to a web site in our "links" section.**

Thanks to all for helping make the 2007 Bikes for Tikes a huge success. Thanks also to the local U.S. Marine Toys for Tots program, several area families were able to have a better Christmas this year because of your efforts. Go to the Photos section to see a photo gallery of the Bikes for Tikes Program.
